Some Fake Dog Updates
Posted on Tuesday, 11 May 2010Some various updates on all things Fake Dog. Firstly, we'd like to thank everyone for the great reception to our new music video, Kill That Boy by The Mighty Atomics. And we're happy to announce it will be screening at Underground Cinema in Dublin in the coming months. More details to be posted closer to the event in the Kill That Boy thread on the message board as they are confirmed.
Continuing with screening-related news, another Fake Dog music video will be screening this coming week at the Bray Music Video Festival. The video will be released online in a couple of months, but if you can't wait until then you can always pop along to the screening on Friday, 14th May at The Harbour Bar in Bray, Co. Wicklow. The video is called You Just Can't Let Things Go and is part of Screening 2, which begins at 18:45. Tickets can be bought on the door, or you can just sit tight and wait for the free online release. Those are the two options.
In other news, we have just uploaded the first two episodes of our sitcom, A Dog's Life, to vimeo. You can see Kerbs and Phones in our films section or on our vimeo page. We'll be uploading more of our back catalogue to vimeo over the next few months, as well as our new releases, so check back for more.
That's all for now! Fake Dog out.
Fake Dog on Vimeo
Posted on Monday, 22 March 2010Fake Dog has recently joined the video hosting site Vimeo. As video sites go, it's a bit nicer to look at and more professional than YouTube. So, we'll be uploading our back catalogue up there over the next few months and embedding them here on the site as we go. Our films will still be available on YouTube, but this gives us a chance to update some of our older videos that YouTube has mistreated, and finally have them looking their best! To start off, we've uploaded our first release from way back in 2007, Gettysburg by My Diet Pill. Check it out in our films section, or check out Fake Dog's Vimeo channel for more. Stay tuned for more releases and new releases!
The Dog Show Returns!
Posted on Wednesday, 03 February 2010Good news for fans of Fake Dog Films and good music! Fake Dog will be launching a new online radio show within the next few weeks. The Dog Show will be available for all to stream from this very website. It will be hosted by Dara, Paul and Gearoid and will feature indie and unsigned music from Ireland and abroad. Expect good tunes, banter, and even the odd interview. Check out our message board topic for further discussion, and watch this space!
New Fake Dog Extras Film
Posted on Thursday, 21 January 2010We've uploaded another video extra to our archive of Fake Dog odds and ends. This one was originally made for a competition called "My Place", but it doubles nicely as a tour of our old house, as seen in A Dog's Life. Enjoy! (And please don't burgle us.)
The Big Dog Show!
Posted on Tuesday, 20 October 2009
After being off the air for a couple of months, Flirt FM is back. And so is Fake Dog. The Dog Show has merged with its sister show, The Big Show, to create what surely must be called The Big Dog Show. After a test run last week, The Big Dog Show will air its second show tonight. And what's more, it's all coming from the brand-new Flirt FM studio. The show is now hosted by Fake Dogs Dara and Gearoid, and Noel Colleran, creator of C.R.A.I.C.! Comics. The new show combines The Big Show's feel-good breakfast music with The Dog Show's retro and alternative goodness. And, of course, Phil Collins.
Listen to the show tonight, and every Tuesday, at 20:00 BST (GMT from next week, as the clocks go back!) on flirtfm.ie. You can leave requests on the message board, or check out past playlists on The Big Dog Show's myspace page.
