About Fake Dog Films

Fake Dog Films is three people — Dara, Paul and Gearóid. We're based in Galway, Ireland, and we like to make films! To find out all about us, see the about us page!

You can see all our films on our films page.

You can also read our blogs where you'll find everything from movie reviews to favourite recipes! The latest news can be found, predictably, on the news page, where you can keep up-to-date on everything that's going on with Fake Dog Films.

And finally, if all that isn't enough for you, you can get in contact with us on the contact page. Or if you want a friendly conversation with Fake Dog and friends, then join up on our message board, and get chatting!

I Promised Myself I Wouldn't Cry

Written 21 August 2009, 12:39 by Paul

This is just a note to let people that I am going away traveling for a year. Don’t fret too much though, Dara and Gearóid will still be here keeping things going. We’ve been working very hard over the last month making more films that will be released during the coming year. I’ll still be on the message board and contributing blogs about my adventures in foreign lands.

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who watched our films and supported us and said such nice things. It’s all really appreciated.

I’d also like to thank Dara and Gearóid for everything over the last 2 years. BFDFF – Best Fake Dog Friends Forever!

  1. You’re welcome!

It is a bit sad. It’s not goodbye, though. Just see ya later.

  2. Goodbye, Paul (Webby) One sees that it is written it is not a goodbye, but it feels like you are leaving Fake Dog. Your words sound … final. It won’t be (or wouldn’t be) the same without your presence. You are an integral part of this Fake Dog chemistry … part endearing and, surely, creatively in all aspects of the partnership. We are anxious to see your travel blog entries and wish you safe passage. Please stay away from the Middle East and Afghanistan. If you are captured anywhere, THE FUTURIST! will arrive with Bill Clinton to rescue you. Bill is of Irish heritage, you know. Are you going solo? Do you have enough money? Did you pack several pair of clean undershorts? Well, perhaps that is too personal, but be assured that you will be missed and you must promise to return to the Fake Dog fold after this year sabbatical. THE FUTURIST! salutes you in a non-Fascist manner. Bon Voyage!
